A smattering of the day’s heavy metal news in one convenient post…

Surprise! Anaal Nathrakh has a new album, Passion, on the way. Right now the release date is still in the “rumored” phase but I’ve heard the summer months. Maybe June/July. And as if just the news wasn’t enough, Candlelight Records have released an e-card with a new track for your listening pleasure from Passion titled Volenti Non Fit Iniuria. You can check that out here

Utah’s own black/death troupe Malignant Inception recently replaced their bass player and keyboardist and now have set their sights on recording their third full-length album. The record will feature the three revamped tracks from their 2010 EP, Nefarious Evils. So to get you primed and lubed up for this coming beast, the band is giving away Nefarious Evils as a free download. Click here to get your copy and don’t forget to leave the band some feedback in the comments section.

After the jump: BTBAM’s greatest hits, line up changes for a certain popular female fronted metal band, a new video from Pegazus, some tour dates you need to know, and more…

Sure “Best Of’s” are just mindless cash grabs but can you blame Victory? They recently lost Between the Buried and Me --who I’m assuming was a cash cow -- to Metal Blade Records. So as a last hurrah they’ll be releasing a special “best of” package featuring a 3 CD/DVD set with 20 songs spanning the bands career to this point, a sticker and a limited edition t-shirt. Which, if you’re in to this sort of thing, is actually a steal at only $22.

Within Temptation has finally announced the addition of a new drummer joining the ranks. Mike Coolen, who’s played with Silkston and Maiden United, is now the band’s full time drummer and as you can tell by the video above he’s pretty stoked about it.

Within Temptation’s new album, The Unforgiving will be released March 25 on Roadrunner Records.

Pegazus, Australia’s heroic metal outfit, released the following video for the track Haunting Me off their forthcoming record In Metal We Trust. The album will mark the band’s first studio release in nearly nine years and Justin Fleming, the band’s original vocalist, is back for this release following his departure after the band released their first album.

In Metal We Trust is to be released on April 15 via Black Leather Records.
