Mat is officially the VIP for our Shiny Pennies segment.  Week after week his recommendations make the grade and become featured content.  Today is no exception with the Australian 6 piece outfit, Ne Obliviscaris.

Ne Oblibiscaris plays a sort of progressive black metal that features the accent of violins and such a wide variety of musical stylings, it’s tough to peg down a genre to place them in.  Since we aren't genre Nazi's here, instead of reading a rant of the plethora of musical comparisons I could shoot off (and I really could), go ahead and just take a listen to the track ‘Forget Not’ from their impressive debut demo ‘The Aurora Veil’ by pressing play above.  Then tell us what you think in the comment section.

I liked that on first listen. Not something I could play everyday though.

That's the kind of band you don't like on your first play. It took me at least two plays of their demo before falling in love with this band. They are currently writing an album who should be released sometime this year.
