Amon Amarth, Enslaved & Skeletonwitch Live in SLC | Part 1

Share

Amon Amarth, Enslaved and Skeletonwitch came into Metal CallOut's backyard of Salt Lake City, Utah on February 12th at the Murry Theater. We were lucky enough to the catch the show and watch a hell of a performance. The tour was Amon Amarth’s Deceiver of the Gods North American Tour 2014.

Skeletonwitch

The supporting act was Skeletonwitch, which I’m not sure why. I believe that Enslaved should have been the supporting act and Skeletonwitch the Special Guest, nether the less that is how the night played out.

Skeletonwitch was blazing right out of the gate. Just like their latest album called ‘Serpents Unleashed’, which was released back in October of last year from Prosthetic Records. It also made my Best Heavy Metal Albums of 2013 list at number 2.

Even fans in Utah were letting them know how good of a show they put on via twitter.

Enslaved

Enslaved had a different approach to the crowd than Skeletonwitch. They were a deeper band that brought a darker atmosphere to the crowd. There were enough Enslaved fans that showed their support when they hit the stage. There were a few power issues that delayed some of the set, but their drummer Cato Bekkevold entertained the crowd with a small drum solo and the lead guitarist Ivar Bjornson humored the crowd with some jokes.
