Metallica Calls It Splits

Share

In an announcement that has stunned fans and press alike, Metallica, just short of their thirty year anniversary, have officially called it quits.  Metallica publicist, Michael Rickford urged them not to make the announcement on April 1st, worried about the backlash from fans once they realized it was not in fact an April Fool's joke.  When asked about the split, singer James Hetfield reported to OK Weekly: “It really was just time, we are SO proud of our last few albums and ultimately we decided that is how we wanted fans to remember us--in top of our game and putting on killer live shows.”  We will try to bring you more on this story as it unfolds throughout the week.

Even if it wasn't April 1st It would not surprise me. Lars and James have so much a big ego to satisfy that they could split-up anytime.
