It seems that lately there has been an influx of good metal coming from Bay-Area, California. Impending Doom is no exception, except that they are not from the bay-area. 100's of miles south, in fact.  I'm always impressed by brutal metal that isn't from Europe, and even more impressed when it's from the sun-drenched southern regions of California.

Formed in 2005 by vocalist Brook Reeves and lead guitarist Manny Conteras, Impending Doom’s first album “The Sin and Doom of Godless Men” was self released, and caught the attention of Christian label Facedown Records. In 2007 they released their first record with Facedown, “Nailed. Dead. Risen”. The record topped out at number 46 on Billboard Top Heatseekers.

After extensive touring with bands like Dead to Fall and Winds of Plague, Impending Doom released their second album, “The Serpent Servant” which climbed to number 3 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart. “The Serpant Servant” boasted new drummer Chad Blackwell as well as a more mature sound from the band. From that album, here is the fourth track “Storming the Gates of Hell”
