Root: Aposiopesis

I got turned on to these guys just a few days ago by a buddy of mine and they’ve been a daily staple in my music diet ever since, so I thought I’d share.

Root was formed in 1987 in the Czech Republic and released their first full-length in 1990. Following in the footsteps of Bathory, Root created their own brand of black metal emphasizing on epic passages, refinement, and eventually clean singing. In their time as a band, Root has released eight studio albums, a slew of demos and re-releases, one compilation, and plan to release a new record sometime in the next year.

I could list a hundred reasons (probably closer to 25, though) why Root is awesome but that’s nothing you couldn’t determine for yourselves by listening. So do it. Click play above and you can hear the track Aposiopesis from 1992’s The Temple In The Underworld. It’s only a small pice of the proverbial pie though. Indulge yourself and eat the whole damn thing sometime.  Enjoy!
