I got turned on to these guys just a few days ago by a buddy of mine and they’ve been a daily staple in my music diet ever since, so I thought I’d share.

Root was formed in 1987 in the Czech Republic and released their first full-length in 1990. Following in the footsteps of Bathory, Root created their own brand of black metal emphasizing on epic passages, refinement, and eventually clean singing. In their time as a band, Root has released eight studio albums, a slew of demos and re-releases, one compilation, and plan to release a new record sometime in the next year. 

I could list a hundred reasons (probably closer to 25, though) why Root is awesome but that’s nothing you couldn’t determine for yourselves by listening. So do it.
