20/20 On The Dangers Of Heavy Metal

I don’t know if anyone has seen this or not but there are some very serious things to consider here. Perhaps the video is a little dated but when we started this site Sparks and I never imagined that we would inadvertently contribute to the poisoning of young minds. For this we are sorry.

This brings me to the big announcement of the day that from this moment forward we are no longer Metal Call-Out. We are "de-metalling". Instead we’ll be focusing on our energy on something more wholesome, and less detrimental to the youth of today. We will become Bubblegum Pop Call-Out.

Our new mission statement includes focusing on acts that in no way negatively influence teens and young adults. Artists such as Britney Spears, Ke$ha, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and of course America’s sweetheart Justin Bieber. In addition, we’ll be reviewing  inspirational MTV docu-drama’s like Teen Mom, 16 and Pregnant, and the poetical social commentary The Hills.

Stay tuned because later today we’ll have a special message Ted Haggard on the dangers of sex, homosexuality, drugs and the influence of music on young minds.  Thank you Tipper Gore!

New Video || Iron Maiden- The Final Frontier

I don’t even want to know how much this video cost the band to make. If I’m not mistaken, music videos typically come out of the band's pockets--not the label’s, leading one to believe the gentlemen in Iron Maiden shelled out some serious coin for this puppy. I’m alright with that, mostly because I was throughly entertained the entire five minutes, even wished it was longer and I don’t think they will be hurting for the cash anytime soon. Take a look.

The Final Frontier will be released on August 17 in North America through Universal Music.

Iron Maiden- New Song & Free Download

Yesterday Iron Maiden announced a free advanced download of a track from their upcoming record The Final Frontier. The track, El Dorado is the second to appear on the album slated for release August 16 worldwide.  The album’s cover art (after the jump) was handled by long-time Iron Maiden contributor Melvyn Grant who was also responsible for work on Fear of the Dark, Death on the Road, Virtual XI and a few of the band's single releases.

Last time I checked the links there was a unavailable message due to extremely high traffic and demand for the song. You can try your luck at downloading the track here (US fans) and here (worldwide) or skip the registration process and simply listen to it above.

I Wish I Were In Helsinki || Hungary's Sziget Festival Line-Up

The hallmark of this year's Sziget festival in Hungry, much like any year’s Sziget festival, is the eclectic array of artists the organizers bring to the stage.  In the past, a person could go see Alanis Morissette on one stage and be just a short walk away from Anti-Flag or The Kooks.  This year's festival is no exception, including acts from Iron Maiden to Muse with about 20 other genres in between.  The 2010 Sziget festival will take place August 11-16 in Budapest at the shipyard on the Danube River’s Obudai Island.  You can see the festival’s line up thus far after the jump.
