Helloween- Album Title and European Tour Dates

Share

In the interest of full disclosure I’ll admit right now I haven’t heard a Helloween record since Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 1 & 2. To be even more frank, I don’t plan on ever going out of my way to listen to any other Helloween albums unless someone out there can conjure up a terribly compelling reason that I should.

Now that that’s out of the way, here’s the scoop -- Helloween recently announced they would be touring the world with Stratovarius in what is to be called The 7 Sinners World Tour. It should not come as a surprise to anyone then, that their new album will also be titled 7 Sinners

The band is currently tracking the final songs on the album after which it will be mixed, mastered and in your local record store before the year is out. Take a look at the European dates announced thus far...

Hi guys, I respect your opinions, but I believe Helloween has no such lack, as you mentioned before... I've been in many shows, and the adrenaline you can feel is incredible... And also, they are a band who has been evolving all the time.... now, these days, you cannot expect that 80´s heavy metal raw sound... I think Helloween has a very polished sound, and the whole band works as a tuned engine... "perfect sound". If you listen to their last albums, Keeper of the Seven Keys, "The Legacy" and Gambling with the devil... you can see how they are exploring new territories, and they are not stuck in the 80´s heavy metal. They changed tunings, and they play incredible songs with changes and climates that I haven´t heard in another band of their style. I still think Helloween is the best power metal band, followed by the great band Statovarius... but careful here..., you must listen to Polaris Album, in order to judge Stratovarius. These bands are changing a lot in the last years.... so no judgements on Keeper I and II, that´s way behind in the timeline... One of the most important things in music, is to keep up with the current times, not being stuck in the old same formulas and evolving to grab the newer audience.

JDeathscript, I agree with you that Helloween had one good album in them and it's not been very intriguing since. Individually, they are obviously talented musicians who are capable of pulling off some very respectable tricks when you look at them through a music-theory lense. But most of us don't listen to metal from the perspective of a conservatory violinist. I have a hard time -- though I remain open-minded -- with metal that's too clean and lacks the grit of its dark working class roots. I think Helloween suffers from a lack of exactly that quality -- they just don't get my adrenal glands pumping and my rage flying. Just an opinion, like any. Art is always highly subjective. So, respect to their fans, but they're just not my thing. Peace, love, metal, Vin www.urbansnake.com
