Trivium is an American heavy metal heralding from what could be argued is the U.S.’s metal capitol, Florida. The band formed in 2000, while guitarist/lead singer Matt Heafy was still in high school and impressed his future band mates at a talent show with a rendition of Metallica’s ‘No Leaf Clover’
When frontman Heafy was only 17 the band released their first album, Ember To Inferno, on Lifeforce Records in 2003. Soon after the band was approached by and signed to metal mega-label Roadrunner Records where they recorded and released their major label debut Ascendancy. Released in 2005 Ascendancy reached American charts where it topped out at 151, UK charts where it peaked out at 78, and Top Heatseekers Chart where it rose to number 4. Loved by critics and fans alike, Ascendacy sold over 140,000 units in the U.S. and 100,000 in the UK where it received gold status.
With Heafy remaining the only original member the band’s current line up consists of Corey Beaulieu on guitar, Paolo Gregoletto on bass, and Nick Agusto rounding out the line up on drums. The band has released, to date, a total of five studio albums, with a sixth, titled Vengeance Falls, slated for release in October 2013.
Showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon Trivium has sold over a million records worldwide, and their best selling record, Ascendency, was also their label’s most profitable record to date.
With reviews of their new album, Vengeance Falls, already coming in it looks as though it too will be a hit. On the album Trivium frontman Matt Heafy worked extensively with Disturbed frontman David Draiman on creating vocal melodies, all other instrumentation, and who also produced the record.
The first single off the album, Brave this Storm, was first played live on July 28 at the Rock The City festival in Romania and released three days later as a free digital download. Recently the band also released the track No Way to Heal recently, the fourth track on record. Fans who purchase a pre-order copy of Vengeance Falls will receive a free digital download that will be made available on the day of the albums’s release, October 15, 2013.
Trivium is currently signed to Roadrunner Records.
