California blackened death metal band, The Funeral Pyre have completed the recording on their follow up record to 2008’s ‘Wounds’. The new record, ‘Vultures At Dawn’ will be mixed by Ryan Butler (Landmine Marathon, Phobia) and feature art work from Justin Bartlett (Trap Them, Sunn0))) ).  On the sound of the new record, the band has said: ‘On this record we stepped out of our comfort zone and tried to create better songs, never focusing on what style of metal it actually is. Just writing the songs was most important to us”. You can expect to see “Vultures At Dawn in stores some time in the late spring and The Funeral Pyre on the road with Light This City for their farewell tour.
