Scott Columbus, Former Manowar Drummer, Is Dead at 54

I hate these kinds of articles. I never quite know what to say and would that I wouldn’t have to write them at all. Unfortunately people die everyday and yesterday one of those people was Scott Columbus, former Manowar drummer extraordinaire.  The news came from a Facebook posting by former Manowar guitarist Ross 'The Boss' Friedman and was confirmed by Columbus’ long-time girlfriend Nancy who wrote:

"For all you to know, this is Scott Columbus's girlfriend of over 3 1/3 years... and I cannot get the words out, but he died today... Please send your thoughts and prayers. I can't believe he is gone. He was the absolute love of my life."

Columbus was part of the Manowar experience from 1983 until 1990, when he was forced to leave the band as his son fell ill.

RIP, Scott. You will be missed.
