New Music From Amon Amarth, While Heaven Wept

Below you can stream a brand new song, Destroyer of Solace, from Virginia’s epic doom juggernauts, While Heaven Wept. The track comes off the band’s forthcoming album, Fear Of Eternity, which will be released on May 3rd though Nuclear Blast.

I’ve only listened to the song once but I’m comfortable saying that it’s not quite as good as even the weakest moments of the band’s previous album, the brilliant Vast Oceans Lachrymose. It’s become a cliché that when a band releases a really amazing album, as Vast Oceans… was, you say, “ I don’t think they will ever be abel to top that.As Moonsorrow recently proved, that’s not always the case though.  It’s more a cop out way of fans/reviewers saying, “I like ‘album X’, nothing will ever be as good as it was. Ever! I used up all my go-to superlatives on it anyway, and new things scare me. Bitch.”

That said, While Heavy Wept might have a hard time topping Vast Oceans Lachrymose. I’m excited to see though. Listen:

Bloody-Disgusting is, for a limited time only, streaming the new Amon Amarth album, Surtur Rising. Go have a listen and do it today because it will only be up until midnight tonight. I actually heard about this on Friday night, and I full intended on posting the news then, but this thing called “life” happened and I got real busy “having one” and forgot about it until today. Enjoy.
