Black Sabbath Guitarist Tony Iommi Diagnosed With Lymphoma

Share

In news that broke this morning it was revealed that legendary Black Sabbath riff lord Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with lymphoma.

Having discovered the disease in its early stages, Iommi remains upbeat and is currently working with his doctors to establish the best treatment plan.

Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphocytes, a type of cell that forms part of the immune system. Treatment of the illness may involve chemotherapy, radiotherapy and/or bone marrow transplant and can be curable. Five-year relative survival rate can range anywhere from 82.1% to 59.9% depending on a number of factors including medical history, what stage the disease is at when it’s discovered, histology, and the body’s response of therapy.

I hope everyone will join us as we wish Mr. Iommi a speedy recovery and send out your thoughts/prayers/love/etc. to this legendary man.
