Amon Amarth: Title, Release Date Of Forthcoming Album

Share

It’s been a few years now since Amon Amarth released their highest selling and most critically acclaimed album, Twilight of the Thunder God, and the time has come for them to step back into those giant viking boots and do it again! According to a press release we received here yesterday from Earsplit, Amon Amarth have announced the tile of their new record to be Surtur Rising and expect to release it in the Spring of 2011.

2011 is already shaping up to be quite a year, innit? To my knowledge we got albums expected from DevilDriver, Mercenary, Amon Amarth, Korpiklaani, In Flames, Megadeth, Suidakra, Amorphis, Cor Scorpii, and rumor on the street is Lord Belial (!) has something cooking as well.

I’m sure my list is far from complete (it’s still early yet), what are y’all excited for in 2011?

..Amon Amarth, yup. Megadeth, yeah. Decapitated too i think. And Arch Enemy. And The Black Dahlia Murder. And Hate Eternal. And Opeth.

I thought their last two were pretty weak actually. The guest spots on Twilight was a single redeeming factor but otherwise....meh.
