First Listen: Satan’s Host- Norwegian Wood (Beatles Cover)

Share

After I wrote the previous post about the Jag Panzer chapter of Harry ‘The Tyrant’ Conklin’s book coming to a close, I got to thinking about the new Satan’s Host album he returned on, By The Hands of the Devil, and the coolest track on that album, Norwegian Wood. Take a listen:

Sound familiar? That’s because it’s a cover, with some liberties taken on the lyrics, of The Beatles song of the same name, from their 1965 album Rubber Soul. And yes, when I said some liberties were taken with the lyrics, I really meant all the liberties that possibly could be taken, were-- and the result is excellence. Here’s the original Beatles version too just for fun:

The song may have originally been about boners.

And there you have it, another reason (as if you really needed one more) to check out the new Satan’s Host album if you haven’t already. I have a strong hunch it will show up on at least one of our staff’s year end lists come December…
