Fear Factory -- despite a five year hiatus, not being able to slow the aging process, and not exactly being the best spokesmen for healthy eating -- can still out play and perform the hell out of many of their younger and thinner counterparts. Case in point, the video above. They still got it, after 21 years at it they still can deliver the goods. Whatever your opinion of the music itself, I think we can all agree on that point.
Personally, this new album rejuvenated my otherwise dormant interest in groove metal (save of course the occasional DevilDriver record). With all the black and doom metal I listen to, it sometimes comes as a welcome break to spin something slickly polished, technically proficient, unrelentingly brutal and that I don’t have to think too hard about. Fear Factory is just that and Fear Factory is back, people!
