You guys missed the point. The film was done exactly like a saga, so it was basically a visual depiction of the way the sagas are written. Does that make for a "good" movie? No, not really. But I think it was faithful to what it was supposed to be, though. My wife slept through most of it; I laughed at the headbanging scene when they were building the fort. The sort of random senseless violence definitely reminded me of the sagas. "So-and-so came upon a priest, and decided he wanted money, so he put an axe through his forehead." Pretty typical. Read some sagas, dudes. As for "viking" movies - watch some Eve Online pk fight movies.

I just watched this movie (untill i was sick of it) and i have to say its the worst movie ive ever seen, I love vikings, I love metal. Perfect film right? WRONG!. This movie is a disgrace to vikings imo, the metal wasnt even put to any action it was just used while they were walking or somthing which is about 60% of the movie. I understand they had a low budget and basically just a home video camera but thats no excuse for the terrible camera angles (zoomed in 100% and like 3 feet from a guys face for most of the scenes? really??!?), very bad timing on how long the scenes are (do i really need to see the pile of rotting, cut up fish for like 30 seconds?), and just being extremely boring. The script is terrible, do vikings really say "...or we're toast" and "this fish is killer". They talk for about 20 seconds every half hour, thats probly good cause every sentance was just stupid. What made me just say "ENOUGH!" was when the movie showed a guy taking dump out in the woods, full veiw, everything in sight. I dont care how much you love metal (I didnt notice alot of it in the movie and wasnt excited about any of it when it played) or vikings (They dont even act like vikings) this movie just isnt worth watching at all.

I have to agree, I just watched it as well- I couldn't finish it. Honestly to date the coolest depiction of vikings I have seen was on the 13th Warrior. Thats sad. Does anyone have any viking movie suggestions?
