New Video || Immortal- All Shall Fall

That was awesome! Exactly what an Immortal video should be: snow, corpse paint, mountains, all four members of the band, and Abbath’s amazing crab dancing skills. Sure nothing much is going on save a few ravens flying around and the band playing their jam atop a snowy summit but you won’t catch me giving a shit -- this is Immortal’s first video in almost 15 years! I’m happy to get anything at all.  I know that this somewhat  wholly contradicts many of the statements I made yesterday about "band's and their crappy forest videos, blah, blah, blah". I know. Immortal is one of a few exceptions.

Immortal- The Seventh Day Of Blashyrkh Trailer

August 6 (EU) and October 6 (US). Mark the apporprate day down in your calendar, for on that day, Immortal will unleash on this cold world a storm of unending grimness in DVD format. The Seventh Day Of Blashyrkh. The footage from the DVD will come primarily from the band's headlining performance at the 2007 Wacken Open Air festival in Germany. Along with just the DVD, one can also choose a limited edition bundle that comes with a shirt, CD, pendant and some other shit.

What can I say, I’m stoked!  It will probably be the first time in this sleepy Utah town FYE employees will look out the shop windows to see a kid wearing corpse paint and playing air guitar banging on the door before the store opens.  Just checked the forecast for that day --bundle up and prepare for blizzards!

Immortal Footage From France- One By One

We’ll just start this day off on the right foot, right now with some Immortal footage courtesy of David Ingham aka ‘triptykon’. The footage of the band performing the track One By One from their album Sons of Northern Darkness was taken last weekend at their Hellfest show in Clisson, France.  Watching this footage makes me wish I could contort my body enough to kick myself in the teeth for missing them when they visited the US a few months ago. For now this will have to do, but I think we can all look forward to their concert DVD The Seventh Date of Blashyrkh slated for release this summer on Nuclear Blast Records.

Immortal To Release Live Concert DVD

I’ve never had a chance to see Immortal live. I kick myself every time I think about this, but the next time they are in the States, come hell or high water, nothing will stand in my way of going. You can then imagine my excitement this morning when I read that Immortal is planning on releasing a live DVD sometime this summer. Titled ‘The Seventh Date Of Blasyrkh’ through Nuclear Blast, the video above is a small sample of what the DVD will hold that originally aired in Germany on ‘Rockpalast’. About.com recently reported that Immortal was already writing songs for a follow-up to 2009’s ‘All Shall Fall’ and, according to Demonaz, the new record will have a more “classic Immortal” feel and “will be different than ‘All Shall Fall’". What splendid news to kick off a weekend, eh? There is no official date for the DVD’s release however, the footage within was professionally filmed at the 2007 Wacken Open Air festival in Germany. You can be assured that we'll bring you more information as it comes to us.

Immortal- North American Tour Dates and Tickets

Starting this weekend, Immortal is taking a short jaunt around the East and West coasts of America and Canada in what will be called the Blashyrkh in North America tour.  The tour will only be hitting four stops along the way, so if you're lucky enough to be in either the Toronto, Montreal, Brooklyn or Hollywood area, make sure to secure your tickets fast!  Concerning the tour, Immortal has issued the following statement: "North American hordes, we are coming your way! After the fantastic experiences we had in New York and Los Angeles in 2007, we are returning next year, and this time we will make sure we visit our Canadian hordes on the East coast as well! We will see you during Easter 2010, which will be a dark and cold one!"

You can see all the confirmed dates for the tour here and get your tickets @ LiveNation.com

After a Long Day...| Immortal, Abbath Interview

I am not going to make any apologies for the lack of substance on Metal Call-Out today. I report the news not make it, alright? At any rate, I figured we will just sign off with a real treat, to make up for our readership only having a Ratt video to watch today. This isn't new by any stretch of the imagination, it’s pretty frantic and poorly edited-- but, as with all things Immortal, I eat it up.
