Metal Can Look Good Too | Wolves In The Throne Room

Share

Say what you will about Wolves In The Throne Room but whatever your thoughts on their music/idealism/politics--their album covers are pretty special. For this installment of ‘Metal Can Look Good Too’, I chose one of the more simple covers in the WITTR catalogue, from their 2009 release ‘Malevolent Grain’. The minimal cover echos the musical sentiments found within it’s sleeve well, with only an obscure forest scene and the bands highly stylistic logo donning the cover. Sometimes if I stare at this cover long enough, I can almost make out a sort of shadowy hooded figure taking up the right third of the cover. Does anyone else see that? Is that supposed to be there, or is it a trick of the eyes? If someone wants to clear that up for me, leave a comment. You can see more covers from Wolves after the jump.

Yeah, I see it too, especially if you don't look directly at it. Visual illusion/phenomenon, but most likely intentional. These guys are amazing. The best post-BM going.
