If You Like That, Try This || Tvangeste - Birth Of The Hero

Cover (front)
This one might be a bit of a long shot for those reading, but I am assuming that most of you have a guilty pleasure or two. Mine happens to be, although I am void of all guilt, early Cradle of Filth albums (and even some newer ones). Don't judge me. At any rate, if you have ever found yourself enjoying them but long for a similar band you wouldn’t mind telling your buddies you listen to, give Tvangeste a try. Tvangeste has many of the same elements of the aforementioned band; shrieking, pitch-shifting vocals, heavy symphonic elements and piano interludes. Despite the similarities, Tvangeste has a raw and heavy sound you won't find on any Cradle Of Filth album since the late 90's. It's something you will have to sample for yourself, so click the play button above and leave us your thoughts in the comment section. This track is from their 2007 album, 'FireStorm' you can purchase here

This has to be one of Filth's most theatric and symphonic albums, which if you are familiar with their work means a great deal. I spent a good chunk of my weekend with this album and while it left me satisfied I found it to be too much of the same thing to validate the 71 minutes of music and vignettes  this CD occupies.  (Read More Cradle of Filth)
