Abscess Calls It Quits

We have more streaming music than usual on the site today and I want to get to that as soon as possible, but I need to take a moment to share a spot of news I just finished reading.

Abscess, whose most recent album I reviewed here, has officially called it quits. The announcement came after news of vocalist/guitarist Clint Bower leaving the band for personal reasons. Abscess has been doing their filthy punk-influenced death metal thing for over sixteen years and has released a handful of full-lengths and a plethora of other recordings. In a statement from they band they related that their final album, “Dawn of Inhumanity was the perfect way to close the Abscess chapter” of their lives and move on. Metal Call-Out would like to wish all the members of the Abscess project the best of luck on all their future endeavors.

Quick Update || Abscess Release 'Dawn Of Inhumanity'

Just as a quick reminder- the Abscess album, 'Dawn Of Inhumanity' that I reviewed here, was released today. Available through Peaceville records, the album features ex-members of Death and Autopsy as well as artwork from Dennis Dread (responsible for the artwork on the last two Darkthrone records). 'Dawn Of Inhumanity' is the band's sixth studio album since their first demo in 1994. You can pick up a copy of the album here

Abscess - Dawn Of Inhumanity Review

The good folks over at Peaceville Records were kind enough to send us an advanced copy of Abscess upcoming album 'Dawn Of Inhumanity' the other day. I couldn't have been happier. First off the rumors are true, the Darkthrone duo, Nocturno Culto and Fenriz do have a special 'cameo' appearance on this album--and it is good. Secondly, with a stacked cast and ex-members of the like of Autopsy and Death, this album did not disappoint.
